Biñan celebrates Rizal’s 156th birth anniversary
June 19, 2017ALONTE SPORTS ARENA— This Friday, June 16, 2017, a total amount of ₱7, 580, 000.00 was handed over to those qualified students who exhibited exemplary performance in their academics. Students whose grades are included in the upper 20% of the total enrollees in Grade 11 of their respective public school are eligible for the program. It’s a known fact that the National Government allocates a budget for the implementation of Senior High School (SHS) in the Philippines. Biñan is the only city in the Philippines that provides an additional financial assistance of ₱10,000.00 in cash to selected incoming Grade 11 public school students in conformance to the City Ordinance No. 02- 2015. The public schools offering senior high school are Southville 5A National High School that has 86 beneficiaries, St. Francis National High School with 40 recipients, Biñan City Senior High School of Timbao, Sto. Tomas, and San Antonio with 38, 29, and 271 grantees respectively. And lastly, Biñan National High School has the greatest number of recipients with 294 students. The encashment of vouchers was regulated by the City Treasury Office staffs, assisted by the City Education Office personnel headed by Prof. Edmil Recibe. Mayor Arman Dimaguila, Vice Mayor Gel Alonte, and members of the City council were present to lead the said program.more photos
