On June 19, 2017, Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) Chairman Manny Pangilinan, Public Works Secretary Mark Villar and other Cabinet Secretaries led the ground-breaking ceremonies of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway at Nuvali, Sta. Rosa. Mayor Arman Dimaguila, together with other city Mayors was also present on the said event to show support for the project. The CALAX project which will connect Cavitex in Kawit, Cavite and end at South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) Mamplasan interchange in Biñan, Laguna, expects to complete construction of the tollway by 2020. The whole project which will have eight interchanges and one main toll barrier will reduce the travel time from CAVITEX to SLEX by 45 minutes. “CALAX will be one of the most advance highway in the Philippines. It expected to ease traffic congestion along Governor’s Drive, Aguinaldo Highway and Santa Rosa Tagaytay Road,” Villar noted. The entire expressway project will require an investment amount of P35.425 Billion.more photos
