“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” Nelson Mandela once said. A traditional groundbreaking and capsuling ceremony took place today, February 15, 2018, to mark the official construction of Biñan Science and Technology High School at Silmer Village, Brgy. San Francisco, City of Biñan, Laguna. Mayor Arman Dimaguila, Vice Mayor Gel Alonte and Congresswoman Len Alonte-Naguiat turned the first turf on the building site which was donated by Ms. Virginia Miriño. Also in attendance were Coun. Liza Cardeño – Chair of Committee on Education, other members of the City Council, Department Heads and Engr. Reynan Reyes, who’s in charge of constructing the edifice. “Natutuwa naman ako at nagpapasalamat kina Mayor, Vice at Congresswoman dahil naisipan nilang gawing school ito upang mapakinabangan ng maraming tao,” Miriño said. First to build is a four-storey building with a total lot area of 6,835 square meters and 6,548 square meters total building area. “Masyadong bold itong move na ‘to. Isang building muna ang itatayo at ang ibang buildings ay pagtutulungan ng City Government, Sangguniang Panlungsod at ni Cong. Len. Pipiliin ang karapatdapat na mag-aaral dito at uunahin natin ang mga taga-Biñan,” Mayor Arman discussed. The City Government of Biñan believes that education is the greatest engine of development and so it persists to implement programs that will provide quality and modern education for Biñanense.more photos
