November 22, 2017In line with the celebration of United Nations Universal Children’s Month with this year’s theme “Bata Iligtas sa Droga” the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) supervised by Ms. Adora Pascual, conducted a Parade of Nations and then followed by a fashion show participated by both Day Care workers and pupils on November 20, 2017 at the Alonte Sports Arena. Mayor Arman Dimaguila, together with his wife, Mrs. Lourdes Dimaguila, members of the City Council and Department Heads attended the said event to celebrate Universal Children’s Day with the Day Care workers, parents and children. The children, together with the Day Care workers, showcased their modeling skills while wearing their beautiful, colorful and fairy-like outfits. They also prepared intermission numbers that’s related to the celebration. Before the awarding of winners, Mayor Arman delivered his State of the Children Address (SOCA) wherein he stated the program and projects of the City Government of Biñan that empower and fortify children’s welfare and development. Some of these are: 120 days supplemental feeding program; monitoring of children ages 0-5; distribution of learning materials and Leggo; financial assistance including 4Ps for 6,000 families; construction of Bahay Pag-asa in Brgy. San Antonio; sustainable livelihood programs for youth; and improving facilities of OsBin pedia ward; these are only few of the countless programs of our Local Chief Executive. United Nations Universal Children’s Month was established in 1954 and is celebrated every 20th of November to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, improving children’s welfare and rights.more photos
