As part of Fire Prevention Month, the Bureau of Fire Protection headed by Sr. Insp. Nilo Lomitao set the 2nd Mayor Arman R. Dimaguila, Jr. Barangay Fire Olympics piloted by our fiery and dynamic City Mayor, Atty. Walfredo R. Dimaguila, Jr. on March 17, 2018 at Biñan Town Plaza. Nineteen (19) barangays – Biñan, Bungahan, Canlalay, Dela Paz, Langkiwa, Loma, Malaban, Malamig, Mamplasan, Poblacion, San Antonio, Sto. Tomas, San Francisco, San Jose, San Vicente, Soro-Soro, Sto. Niño, Timbao and Tubigan, competed in busted hose, bucket relay and fire extinguisher categories. Vice Mayor Gel Alonte, Coun. Jigcy Pecañan, ABC Pres. Rommel Dicdican and City Population Officer Maria Bonacua were in attendance and led the awarding ceremony. Brgy. San Antonio ousted the rest and won as Overall Champion of this year’s olympics with an average score of 95.60%, received Php 50,000.00 cash, trophy and certificate. Brgy. San Francisco won first runner-up with an average of 93.60% and received Php 35,000.00 cash. Brgy. Dela Paz won second runner-up with a score of 93.40, received Php 25,000.00 followed by Brgy. Langkiwa and Brgy. Malamig for third and fourth runners-up. Congratulations winners! Winners of Bucket Relay: 1st-Brgy. Bungahan 2nd-Brgy. Tubigan 3rd- Brgy.
