The City Government of Biรฑan, led by Mayor Gel Alonte and Vice Mayor Dada Reyes, officially launched the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) today, November 25 with a kick-off ceremony at the city hall grounds.
Spearheaded by the Gender and Development (GAD) Office under Dr. Arlene Alonte-Ancheta, the event emphasized the importance of awareness, prevention, and empowerment. City officials urged the public, barangays, employees, and local organizations to take active roles in reporting and preventing abuse, reinforcing Biรฑanโs unified stand against all forms of violence.
Throughout the 18-day observance, GAD Office will roll awareness drives and other activities to educate the public about VAWC laws. The ceremony ended with a collective pledge to promote a VAWC-free city.
